  • In 2024, Chick-fil-A announced a change to its recipe for Waffle Potato Fries. Ingredients in the new recipe include pea starch.

Ingredients in fries:Potatoes, High Oleic Canola Oil, Vegetable Oil, Modified Food Starch, Leavening, Rice Flour, Salt, Dextrose, Xanthan Gum, Dextrin, Pea Starch, Disodium Dihydrogen Pyrophosphate.

  • Dimethylpolysiloxane is added to the High Oleic Canola Oil to prevent foaming.
  • Vegetable Oils include one or more of the following: canola oil, palm oil, and/or soybean oil.
  • Modified Food Starch is derived from one or more of the following: corn, potato, and/or tapioca.
  • Disodium dihydrogen pyrophosphate, sodium acid pyrophosphate, and sodium bicarbonate are used as Leavening agents.
  • Disodium Dihydrogen Pyrophosphate is used to maintain natural color. The additive is an inorganic, water-soluble compound extracted from phosphate rock.

Allergens

The most common food allergens are milk, peanuts, eggs, fish, crustacean shellfish, soy, tree nuts, wheat, and sesame.

Chick-fil-A’s fries are not made with any of the major food allergens. However, ingredients do include pea protein. In addition, soy and palm oils are included in the list of vegetable oils.
