Ingredients in Simply Salt Crackers

List of Ingredients

There are only three ingredients in this crispy snack cracker:

White Rice Flour, High Oleic Safflower Oil, Salt.

What is High Oleic Safflower Oil?

Safflowers bred to contain a higher content of monounsaturated fats are used to produce high oleic oil, which has a smoke point of up to 520ºF. As such, it is useful for cooking at higher temperatures. By comparison, unrefined safflower oil has a smoke point below 225ºF.

Allergens

According to the Good Thins packaging, the crackers may contain soy, sesame seed, and/or tree nuts. Given that there are only three ingredients, this is presumably due to the crackers being manufactured in a facility that may also make other foods containing these ingredients.

Easy Appetizer Recipe Using Good Thins Simply Salt Crackers

Easy Appetizer Recipe

This is a very simple recipe for smoked salmon on crackers. You can adjust the ingredients as you wish based on your own individual taste preferences.

Here are the ingredients:

  • Smoked Salmon or Lox
  • Cream Cheese
  • Alouette Cheese Spread (any flavor; we use Garlic & Herb)
  • Cherry Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Red Onion, Dill, Capers

Mix the cream cheese and flavored cheese spread. I recommend allowing the cheeses to come to room temperature first, which makes it really easy to mix. You can also use a tablespoon or more of cream to make it smoother.

Slice all the other ingredients very thin. Then stack it: cracker, cream cheese mixture, salmon, cucumber, tomato, red onion, dill, caper. Serve immediately.

You can refrigerate this dish for a little while before serving, but if it’s left for too long, the crackers will get a bit too soft.
