My Opinion

The one ingredient I was surprised to see on this list is high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). HFCS is a liquid form of table sugar. I understand there are plenty of recipes that balance savory and sweet, but I wasn’t expecting to see HFCS in Ritz Crackers.

I’m not saying the 1 gram of sugar in these crackers is a concern. But, I do know it’s not a good idea to consume an excessive amount of high fructose corn syrup.

So I pay attention when I see foods that include HFCS. Especially in otherwise salty snacks when it’s unexpected.
