Snyder’s Traditional Pretzels: Calories & Nutrition
Snyder’s of Hanover, founded in 1909, is well-known for its packaged pretzel snacks. Their line of crunchy pretzels are available in a variety of shapes, sizes, and flavors. My personal favorite are the larger-sized Olde Tyme.
Today we focus on the brand’s line of Traditional Pretzels, which includes the Thins, Sticks, Dipping Sticks, Rods, Snaps, Butter Snaps, Sourdough Hard, Olde Tyme, and Homestyle Rings. In addition, the Mini, Itty Bitty Mini, and Unsalted Mini pretzels are part of the Traditional category.

Calories and Nutrition Facts
Calories
All of the traditional pretzels by Snyder’s of Hanover have 110 calories per serving, with the exception of the Dipping Sticks.
Average Calories from Fat, Carbs, and Protein
On average (across all 13 pretzel types), carbohydrates contribute about 82% of the total calories. Protein and dietary fat each make up about 9% of the total calories.
Here is the amount of calories derived from fat, carbs, and protein based on a straight average across all types of Snyder’s traditional pretzels:
- Fat: 10 calories
- Carbohydrates: 90 calories
- Protein: 10 calories
- Total: 110 calories per serving
Summary of calories by nutrient is a rounded estimate based on the nutrition facts labels on packages of Snyder’s pretzels.
Snyder’s Dipping Sticks Pretzels
The nutrition label for the Dipping Sticks pretzels indicates 120 calories per calories. It’s only 10 calories higher than all of the other traditional pretzels, but it made me curious so I wanted to share this difference with you.
The Dipping Sticks do not have a higher quantity of total fat, carbohydrate, or protein. Moreover, the serving size is the same (28 grams) across all styles of these pretzels.
So I don’t have a concrete reason why the calories are higher. My best educated guess is that this small difference is due to rounding.
Fat
The amount of fat per serving in the pretzels ranges 0.5 grams to 2 grams. None of the 13 types of Traditional Pretzels contain Saturated Fat or Trans Fat.
Snaps, Butter Snaps, Rods, and Homestyle Rings contain up to 1 gram of monounsaturated fat. According to the American Heart Association, monounsaturated fats can help reduce bad cholesterol levels in blood.
Sodium
Total sodium per serving varies based on type of pretzel. It’s probably no surprise that the Unsalted Mini has the least amount of sodium at 90 milligrams per serving. Snaps are at the other end of the range with 310 milligrams per serving.
Type of Pretzel | Sodium per serving |
Unsalted Mini | 90mg |
Sourdough Hard, Dipping Sticks, Old Tyme | 190mg |
Homestyle Rings | 220mg |
Rods | 230mg |
Butter Snaps, Itty Bitty Mini, Sourdough Nibblers | 250mg |
